About Peru...
Peru is a beautiful country, made for an adventure-tour on a motor-bike, with a good mix of tarmac and unpaved roads. Besides motor-bikes you can do your tour in a 4x4, and even combination-tours with motor-bikes and 4x4's are posible.
Almost
everybody has heard of the highlights of Peru, like the Nasca-lines,
the lost city of the Inca's Machu Picchu and off course the highest
navigable lake on earth: Lake Titicaca.
Less famous, but even impressive is the Colca Canyon, the second
deepest canyon in the world, where you can see the Andean Condor
in the wild. And... where is the deepest canyon? Around the corner
here in Peru! The Cotahuasi Canyon is the deepest in the world
with it's 3.500 meters deep. Did you know that the Grand Canyon
in Arizona (USA) is 'only' 1.500 meters deep.
And penguins on the equator? Yes! At the Islas Ballestas National
Reserve you can see them in the wild. This is because of the Humboldt-gulfstream
from Antarctica. And what about flamingo's, do they only exist
in Florida (USA)? NO, during your tour in Peru you will see them
for sure.
The whole world is devided in some 125 ecological zones and Peru
has about 85 of these zones within her boundaries. From de desert
along the Pacific coast to the lowland tropical rainforest in the
north-east of Peru. It's all there!
